I’m excited to be a part of author Pavarti K. Tyler’s Celebrating Community Blog Hop. From August 16 to August 19, participants in the Hop will be writing about friendship, family, happiness, togetherness, and (my favorite topic, obviously) food. Want to see who else is participating? Today, the last day of the tour, we’re discussing how we share happiness.
Throughout my life, I’ve shared and shown happiness in different ways. I’ve always been very physically demonstrative with affection–hugs, kisses, pats, pets, handshakes, hand-holding. All of those are an integral part of how I share my love and happiness. I’ve often caught people off-guard with my touchy-feely-ness.
As I’ve gotten older, though, I’ve gotten less physically demonstrative with those that I do not know very well. Instead, I’ve chosen to share happiness verbally. My greatest pleasure is making someone laugh (which is a little strange, when you think about it, considering that any novels or novellas I work on are always very serious, sometimes borderline depressing–perhaps that’s where I work out all my demons). I was the class clown during elementary school. I’m not so much goofy now as snarky. Observational comedy feeds my very soul.
So, how do I share happiness? With a laugh. Preferably yours.

Thanks for sharing your happiness today. Isn’t it wonderful that we have a permanent memory we can relive of how we share our happiness. That way, when we’re done reading our books and have a moment of sadness we can find happiness all over our blogs.
Don’t give up hugging. If it’s in your heart, it’s in you to give and even though people will be weirded out by it at first, they’ll pass it on.
